At 11 a.m. on Monday, April 13 at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) will lead U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty (D-5), the Lewis family, educators and advocates in announcing new legislation introduced by Blumenthal in honor of Jesse Lewis to support student’s social and emotional needs. Jesse Lewis was among 26 innocent children and talented educators killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. Since her son’s death, Scarlett Lewis has founded the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation, and has become one of the nation’s leading advocates for social and emotional learning.
